Overview

The Replenishment Buyer manages inventory for all assigned items, suppliers and/or categories to provide efficient service to internal and external customers. This position works to maximize sales/ customer service scores within inventory budget by ensuring each warehouse always has sufficient inventory to satisfy customer demand. Utilizing sku/venue forecasts, business knowledge &collaboration between Merchant, Planner, Operations and the field, this position owns buying and tracking shipments for all items within specified area of control to ensure there is always enough inventory to replenish stores.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for buys and inventory levels down to sku/store. Utilize forecasts, business knowledge and input from team to maximize in-stock rate on all current active styles at sku /store level while reducing liability on all discontinued styles. Work with allocation analyst to fine tune allocation rules, and strategies.
  • Work with Planning Manager to ensure forecasts are accurate and  timely based on business trends and customer demand.
  • Develop and implement ordering cycles, based on product lead times and minimums, to ensure warehouses are always sufficiently in stock in all current items to fulfill allocation needs.
  • Place and Manage orders and delivery tracking.
  • Partner with Logistics and Vendors to move/expedite delivery dates where necessary to ensure optimal in-stock rates on all items within area of responsibility.
  • Utilize forecasts as well as other business knowledge to create performance expectations for each category/store to ensure sales and profits are maximized.
  • Partner with Merchant and Planning Manager on hind sights and analysis to evolve assortment framework and distribution. Lead and evolve strategy for Buying, Allocation and Inventory Management.
  • Participate in Assortment Plan reviews to address slow-moving products, discuss replacement opportunities, and make recommendations of replacement product based on test performances.
  • Miscellaneous projects as needed for various individuals/departments within the organization.
  • Increase sales & turn by collaborating with the Merchant and Planning Manager on optimal placement of product.
  • Work with Merchant and Planning Manager to set minimum stock levels on all new product as well as warehouse safety stock.
  • Provide the field training of the MI9 Inventory System.

Qualifications

 

  • 4+ years planning experience.
  • Proven performance in a Planning role in a retail organization.
  • College degree required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong collaboration skills.
  • Enjoys working on a team.
