  • Overview

    A creative, versatile team player who will work closely with product development team and collaborate with Vice President of Merchandise Development to create innovative products that uphold our brand standards aligned with our product strategies addressing global and regional needs while achieving the budgeted retail sales, cost of sales and inventory goals.


    • Create design and development concepts/plans that drive merchandise sales and maximize profits.
    • Execute design and development plans according to product direction and strategy established with VP of Merchandise Development.
    • Communicate product direction to internal and external teams thru Style Outs, Line Reviews, and Merchandise Presentations.
    • Collaborate with VP of Merchandise Development on assortment, retail and costing strategy.
    • Lead initial product cost/ price negotiations based on overall strategy.
    • Competitive shopping to identify opportunities for in season and future seasons planning.
    • Travel Trade shows, Vendors/Partners, Manufactures, Hotel and Franchise Venues as needed.
    • Present out trend findings from market travels to PD team/ VP Merchandise Development.
    • Create & maintain internal-external Standards of Execution for Product Development with existing and proposed Company Owned and Franchise Vendors.
    • Oversee Assistant Merchandise Development in managing the Global Vendor approval process as it relates to Global Vendor compliance and Franchise partner needs.
    • Manage coordination of all vendor specification sheets for buying team with Assistant Merchandise Development.
    • Manage and maintain all sample specification tech packs for assigned categories, working with PD and with vendors.
    • Facilitate and ensure the timely distribution of new product designs to Global vendors in conjunction with PD time and action calendar product launches.
    • Manage set up all new styles and maintain changes on all sku’s within assigned categories in accordance to PD’s requirements.
    • Collaborate with VM, and VP of Merchandise Development to plan visual standards and guidelines.
    • Partner with PD team on communication to OPS teams thru the Visual Manager all Fixtures and Signage needs based on product assortments.
    • Oversee management and organization of PD vendor files, sample archives and inventory of R&D samples.
    • Successfully learn and become proficient at in-house inventory systems and software applications (MI9, Radius).
    • Partner w/ VP of Merch Development to further develop Associate Product Developer for succession plan thru shadow/mentor opportunities.





    • 7+ year’s product development experience.
    • Proven successful track record.
    • College Degree Required.
    • Extremely creative.
    • Must be able to think “outside the box.”
    • Travel flexibility.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Detailed oriented.
