Lead a cross functional team to establish and determine the assortment plans at the store, category, and product levels while also determining, promotional and pricing plans that address global and regional needs to drive sales and ultimately achieve the budgeted retail sales and cost of sales goals each year.


  • Drive the assortment strategy. Collaborate with cross-functional team to plan assortments and business strategies through influencing product development, promotions, pricing, buying, product placement, and trend.
  • Approve assortment size and breath, store distribution, costing and retail pricing to ensure departmental results are achieved.
  • Establish, drive, and execute a strategic Omni-Channel product vision and business plan. Work with Product Development to interpret and forecast trends through customer lens.
  • Work closely with Product Development to maximize adoption rate as well as ensure styles are updated and replaced in a timely manner.
  • Understand our customer preferences and interests, our competition, and the marketplace by observing shoppers in stores, shopping our competitors in brick and mortar stores as well as online and monitoring media platforms.
  • Identify emerging fashion trends in the market. Interpret emerging ideas in the market to our customers taste.
  • Develop, communicate and execute seasonal strategic plans to deliver on financial objectives.
  • Partner with Retail Planning to ensure financial plans accurately reflect seasonal strategies and merchandise plans inclusive of sales, markdowns, and growth opportunity.
  • Provide input to Retail Planning team on forecasted sales and inventory levels on all products with particular emphasis on performance of new unproven styles and expected sales spikes due to product promotions, positioning and pricing.
  • Effectively manage in season business to maximize topline sales and minimize markdowns.
  • Be the expert in current and historical selling analysis across all platforms to continually evaluate and update analysis for assortment strategies, item performance, store performance, and cost of sales.
  • Utilize self-created analysis as well as that from other sources to make recommendations on business opportunities.
  • Develop and determine Non Clearance Promotions/Events/Contests.
  • Work with Visual Merchandising and Store Operations teams to ensure vision of the merchandise strategy is executed as expected.
  • Manage and oversee item set up and creation.
  • Communicate to Merchandise Team regarding merchandise plans, goals and assortment strategies.
  • Communicate directly with Store Operations team to field venue concerns about their assortment.
  • Actively listen to all members of cross-functional team to ensure innovative ideas are surfaced and acted upon and team feels ownership of business.
  • Present to senior leadership presentations of selling analysis, business strategies, style information and trend ideas.
