Under the supervision of the Director of Purchasing, the Food & Beverage Buyer, either personally or through subordinates, coordinates the activities involved with procuring food and beverage products. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Reviews requisitions; confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability and delivery schedule.
Maintains current knowledge of food and beverage purchasing policies and procedures, quotations, negotiations, contracts, rebates and vendor confidentiality.
Evaluates and selects food and beverage suppliers based upon price, quality, availability, reliability and selection of products.
Solicits quotations, reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
Maintains procurement records such as goods, items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality and inventories.
Expedites delivery of goods, items and services.
Associate's Degree with a major in Business or other related course of study, as well as one (1) or more years of purchasing experience or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education.
Communication, problem-solving, decision-making, prioritization and analytical skills required.
Experience in a purchasing department for a Four-Diamond or greater Hotel/Casino property required.
Proficiency with Word and Excel required;
Stratton Warren software experience a plus.
F & B purchasing experience in excess of $50 million annually required
Multi-property, high volume buying experience a plus.
