Overview

Responsible for curating Hard Rock International’s (HRI) music experience and artist relations strategy across all company and franchise Cafes and Rock Shops in over 75 countries as well as all music-based online initiatives. Leads a team focused on delivering music-centric experiences in new and exciting ways, on a global scale, spanning cafes, Rock Shops, live entertainment and experiential activations worldwide. With an innate ability to enhance the brand consumer journey through our musical DNA, coupled with the necessary skills to monetize our music initiatives, this individual will propel our cafe brand musical experience into the future while honoring our legacy.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead overall music and artist relations direction for Hard Rock Cafes (company and franchise)
  • Lead and manage internal cafe video systems curation and optimization
  • Current music video offering
  • Test application with streaming platforms via Spotify (or other).
  • Curated playlist by market.
  • Lead and manage the world’s largest battle of the bands at 125+ locations and more than 10,000 artists annually.
  • Lead and manage the Artist of the Month program.
  • Redefine live entertainment for Hard Rock Cafes (company and franchise) on a global level.
  • Create and implement campaigns to drive increased traffic to the physical and online Hard Rock Cafe
  • Rock Shops with music platforms that digitally align with the Hard Rock brand, current and future consumer landscapes.
  • Provide strategy and innovation around music marketing tent poles inclusive of concept development, execution of contracts, prizing, partnerships, artist relations and media.
  • Develop and manage experiential Hard Rock Cafe brand music activations encompassing:
  • Large-scale (60k+ attendees) and smaller scale (grand openings, partner activations, etc.)
  • Branding elements, advertising, and experiential partnerships
  • Secure talent through partnerships
  • Identify key points of differentiation
  • Creative POV on music programming and artist relations
  • Project manage across all business segments
  • Serve as music subject matter expert for the Hard Rock Cafe brand
  • Leverage consumer research by keeping abreast of music/entertainment trends ensuring the brand’s relevance within the music community and the mind of the consumers.
  • Oversee Hard Rock Cafe’s online and digital music content to improve SEO ranking and engagement across social, e-commerce, and other digital platforms
  • Manage and leverage partnerships through cooperative marketing efforts to engage consumers and incent trial with Live Nation, AEG, Pepsi, Red Bull and other beverage partners.
  • Negotiate A-list celebrity artists for campaign marketing in Cafes and Hard Rock Shops and facilitate agreements, riders and marketing/PR tasks for these (i.e., Rihanna, Pitbull, Bob Marley)
  • Work with external creative, social, PR, and digital agencies across all media channels and markets, nationally and internationally.
  • Partner with internal HRI Teams such as Merchandising and Marketing teams to evaluate opportunities to develop retail strategies in conjunction with any music activations.
  • Identify national and international media markets, with the ability to tap into emerging trends to secure talent and awareness of HRI as a leader in emerging music with thorough awareness of emerging music genres & platforms.
  • Be a strategic partner in the branding of HRI Cafe division with thought, leadership and execution of the evolution of the Hard Rock brand through musical programming and artist relations.

Qualifications

 

REQUIREMENTS EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Proven track record of managerial success in a fast paced environment by possessing the experience, ability, and knowledge to move the business forward financially while focusing on human capital.
  • Proven track record of making high quality decisions and the ability to make complex decisions.
  • Applicable standard of education is required.

SKILLS

  • Strong leadership behaviors coupled with the technical skill set to drive the business toward success.
  • Must possess strong communication and listening skills, excellent speaking, reading and writing.
  • Comprehend and use technical or professional language, either written or spoken, to communicate complex ideas.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Multiple language abilities a plus, fluency in English required.
  • Well-travelled, global music enthusiast
