  • Overview

    The Procurement Analyst will assess, plan and execute all aspects of Purchasing, logistics and supply chain reporting. They will serve as the primary interface for Purchasing driven analytic requests with expectations for projects to be both self-directed and/or assigned. The candidate will provide analytical support and assist in the development of performance metrics for new projects and initiatives, conduct ad-hoc research, create tracking/spend reports, and design complex database queries. The secondary role of the Business Intelligence Analyst team member is to head up all Purchasing system implementation projects to include managing outlines/timelines and ensuring implementation processes are met and are suitable to requirements and business environment, perform on-site and remote software training and perform troubleshooting as needed.

    The ideal candidate will be data-driven, intellectually curious, and a clear communicator. The candidate should have knowledge in technical consultation, excellent communication/problem solving and interpersonal skills.

    Responsibilities

    • Proactively support the department with all desired product movement/inventory, spend and trend reporting, including one-off analytical needs.
    • Develop in-depth understanding of underlying data, data structures, and business uses of data to provide clear data visualizations and analysis.
    • Work with IT, finance, and corporate operations support personnel to accomplish tasks.
    • Participate in development and maintenance of SOP’s as new systems and reports are implemented.
    • Work with Purchasing Management to determine reporting requests that can be automated vs managed manually
    • Work with business analysts or end users to define/refine requirements
    • Execute implementation project plans, at the direction of the Director of Purchasing, based on the needs, resources, and timelines as part of a project team.
    • Perform on-site and remote configuration, and end user training.
    • Manage time and resources to facilitate multiple implementation projects simultaneously.
    • Ensures success and end user satisfaction in a friendly and courteous manner.
    • Continually investigates product and gains industry knowledge to improve performance and skill set.
    • Work independently to accomplish tasks to meet performance requirements

    Qualifications

    • Previous experience in Logistics, Statistics, Analytics, Supply Chain or related fields.
    • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze large amounts of raw data and summarize into clear, accurate, meaningful, value-added reports and analysis.
    • Demonstrates organizational skills while working on multiple projects.
    • Strong understanding of technical designs, database structures, and specifications, with an ability to transform abstract end user needs into system solutions.
    • Strong analytical and software management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret department needs and translate them into a project plan.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
    • Demonstrated ability to work well independently and with little supervision.
    • Public speaking experience or aptitude to become a great on-site communicator.
    • Ability to travel up to 10-20% of the time, including overnight and weekends.
    • Ability to independently research and learn new technologies.
